I believe that knowing that your gift was a bad idea.... why would you give him that??? That is not help... if he has a problems you as a sister should help him to get out of it not to get more into it...

I am not sure what would possess you to do such a thing. That would be like someone giving you chocolates when you are trying to lose weight. It is defeating and sending the wrong message. I would actually apologize for what I sent him and tell him that it was not sensitive to his needs. I am guessing he is not in recovery, so you are feeding his addiction. Perhaps go to some Al-Anon meetings so you can learn what to do and what not to do in such situations. It would be helpful to know how you can help him and not make things worse. His kids have the right idea to avoid him if he is dangerous to their mental health...but the better idea would be to get him help.

Objectively conversing, suicide is a extreme sin. yet there is superb situation in men attempting to decide how responsible a guy or woman grow to be whilst they did the deed. many situations they do no longer seem to be responsible. The Church takes this into consideration and as a result will enable for a funeral provider. In doing this, the Church leaves the question to God, who's the perfect decide of ways responsible a guy or woman is. you lacked charity in handling this. You have been the two incorrect fairly your pastors theological be responsive to-how of salvation. as quickly as stored isn't consistently stored in any different case Christ does no longer have mentioned you had to undergo to the top

If you know he is an alcoholic, why in hell would you buy him 4 bottles of lager? Next time why don't you get him a week at the Betty Ford Clinic.

I believe that's called "enabling"....instead of the cheese with his booze, maybe a dime bag and a prostitute would have been better suited.
You don't mention if he's recovering or active in his disease, either way, that was a "pour" choice in my opinion....and that's what this forum is all about

Anything that might encourage him to pursue other interests might have been a better gift; like a backpack and camping equipment, or jogging shoes, or snowboard, etc.

Consider yourself an 'enabler' by giving him the gift that you did.
