There are some rumors on the internet that the Central Intelligence Agency planned the assassination of Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto in efforts to support Pervez Musharraf's dictatorship, a key U.S. ally in Asia. Should Congress create a commission to investigate the CIA involvement in the assassination of Benazir Bhutto?

This was not the CIA, vehicle attacks have long been known to be the specialty of the Mossad. Now that is not to say it was the Mossad, but they are the ones who would stand to benefit the most from further destabilization in the Middle East. It is also important to not that Bhutto has stronger ties to Washington and is the oposition leader that the neocons wanted in power in Pakistan. The one thing that is certain is that it was an government and intelligence agency behind it that was behind it. Despite what is often reported about terrorism being perpetrated by rogue groups, when speaking truthfully about terrorism the real experts will tell you that sophisticated terrorism is always the work of governments. There are only a handful of intelligence agencies in the world capable enough to carry out such attacks.

First of all, Congressmen get no benefit for doing such thing. At its worst, a few Congressmen might get no more funding, in order to be set up as examples of those who dare to rebel.

Second, you think that Congress will dare to do it? The entire Congress will be disbanded. At its worst, a few Congressmen might get 'accidents', in order to be set up as examples of those who dare to rebel.

Third, even if such commission ever happened, its conclusion probably already preset to relieve the C.I.A. of having a minor guilt or even out of any guilt at all. Unless the boss of the C.I.A. decided to eliminate or reformat the C.I.A., like it was done to the O.S.S.

Both Musharraf and Bhutto are puppets for the same puppetmaster, so it doesn't matter on which one is the leader.

However, the C.I.A. and their boss set up Bhutto as the icon of 'democracy', therefore any attack on her (whether it was real or not) will therefore be constitute as an attack on 'democracy'.

Don't you think it's strange that the assasination of Bhutto is given more attention that it deserved? Her assasination mean almost nothing to condition of the world, Pakistan is a relatively small country, and nearby countries (India, Afghanistan, etc) probably will buffer any disruption there.

I mean I could have sworn that some news corporations probably should change their names to reflect their current news, like: Bhutto Broadcasting Company, Bhutto News Network, Bhutto News Channel, Al-Bhutto, and so on.

I very much doubt that the CIA had any think to do with it as she was very pro western in her views so would of made a great ally to the USA. It is more likely militant islamists who saw her as a traitor and probably despise any woman as a leader .They also wanted to show there ability to create terror but we should not cave in to such scum they don't represent Pakistan or any where in Asia and i hope and pray that a new alliance in Asia and the Middle East will be built to confront the menace to democracy and put to a stop to it once and for all.

a very comparable question, (can a majority Christian usa be governed as a democracy), could have been asked approximately maximum of Europe until eventually the mid twentieth century. The Christian faith has no longer replaced all that plenty, so there could desire to be another aspects that be certain the fashion of government. Many political scientists have self assurance that no count if a rustic could nicely be governed as a democracy relies upon on political monetary, cultural, and historic aspects greater advantageous than it does does faith. the incontrovertible fact that a number of Muslim majority countries, (Turkey, Lebanon, Iran and Indonesia) are democracies additionally disproves the actual fact. And, 4 to six million Muslim Americas of course do no longer see their faith as incompatible with democracy.

I believe that an international group should be sent. If for no other reason than to prove that the government is not guilty and promote peace between the government and the people.
However, I think that if the Untied States alone sends a group very few will listen to us.

besides, the US is having problems with Musharraf, and would love to see a democracy minded leader back in power where she belonged. what would the US have to gain by working with Al-Qaeda in her murder?

although i won't admit that i know everything going on behind the scenes, i don't see how an unstable and nuclear pakistan would be beneficial to the U.S.. the cia would have to know that an assasination against bhutto and indirectly at democracy, would throw the already unstable country of pakistan into chaos. so no, i don't buy that conspiracy theory.
