I plastered my bathroom walls (skim) I would like to sand it down to give it a better finish, I have an electric sander..would this be a easy job or would it be easier to give the walls another skim..thanks

If sanding is the easier option do you have any tips on keeping the dust to a minimun.

its easy to sand down providing its fully dry (pale pink)..if you got to sand it down you must be a rough old plasterer ..leave well alone..

I'm not sure about your particular brand of plaster. I do know that Joint Compound will "sand down" with a wet sponge or sand paper. to keep the dust down you might try keeping a small garden srayer filled with water and sray it in the air. maybe a sander with a dust catcher too, but you are in a small space-so i think it's going to get dpretty dusty no matter what.

you can sand it but it will create lots of dust, LOTS, unless you have tools with dust extraction and and extractor its horrible. dont use your house vac. if you use 2 or three coats of thick (good quality) emulsion the finish will be sort of ok

if you cant do it once it probably wont work next time, i'm afraid it takes practice

skimming with joint compounds is a bodge and not what it was designed for

get a pro or be prepared to try several times, pva 2 coats first

No its not good.
give it a skim with Gyproc Joint Adhesive. (Tubs), then lightly sand, it will come up like glass.

Joint adhesive is not a bodge. it is common practice on most new builds.
