The importance of law is very crucial. The most important thing is that "law forms the foundation on which any civilized scociety is based."
Nature has its own laws. So does society. Also law is multi discplinar and is interesting because not only does it involve the technical know how of the constitution but also invilves the study of human mind, discipline, physcology, science, English, Latin, philosophy and so many other subjects. This enhances the study of law as a complete subject in all respets.

Hope this helps. Do let me know if it does! Happy New Year.

Well, I'm a person who got a law degree but who isn't practicing law for a living. I've found the study of law has changed my whole pattern of thinking, so that I'm much more strategic in my approach. Also, last year I was in an administrative position, and I don't think two days ever went by when I didn't face a problem involving a legal aspect - contracts, liability, intellectual property, etc. While I wasn't an expert in all of these areas, I knew enough to be aware of the times when knowledge of the law was important and could alert the right people. At the same time, I often find that my colleagues live in fear of the law needlessly. If they had a better understanding of what the law does and does not require, they could relax and only worry when a real issue arises.

Why To Study Law

It is not important to study law,as you know if you have a legal problem you go to see a lawyer. If you become a lawyer you obviously will deal with your own problem thus taking the bread out of the mouth of your local lawyer who can do without you trying to dilute his practise as competiton.

There are many good reasons to study law. One law prof says it is the universal solvent, so to speak. That is, it mixes with everything and every other discipline in some way, and everything else mixes with it.

Of course, there are also many good reasons not to go to law school. See this discussion:
