I used to date liberals, they were push-overs and easy to control. They'd believe just about whatever you tell them. But when you support your claims with irrefutable facts... I married one. She's now a conservative and knows better.

I don't. As long as the person has an intelligent reason for being in the other party and doesn't come off like Ann Coulter I have no problem with it. I'll have to admit though that most people in both parties have a hard time having civilized conversations about politics these days because the country is pretty much evenly divided into two polarized groups. If I really cared about the person, I'd probably choose to keep political discussions out of the relationship.

Strange no one has asked before.

No, I never would make a determination if I wanted to date someone based on political party. I like to know (can have some good debates with someone!!), but its not a deciding factor.

My wife and I support different political parties but we have similar views on the main issues that affect the country.

It's not really the "party" that I look at, but yes, I do take into consideration their political views.

I could never be with a hater. Or a bigot. Or a conscienceless money-grubbing soulless zombie.

Most definitely! Heck, dating is tough enough much less having political differences. Although it seemed to have worked out okay for Arnold.

didnt like the idea of kids getting blown up

otherwise if they have different views it sometimes makes things alot more interesting

at least it shows they care about something

I want someone opened minded that understands the party system is nothing more than a tool.

Yes I do. I know this amazed people, but one needs to be able to communicate and respect what the other has to say and believe. While I do respect a difference of opinion, I don't have to have it in my daily life.

No, I married my wife who is a democrat and like democrats she is rather flip floppy. But she open minded and realizes that democratic and republican extremism are what is tearing the country apart. And honestly I couldn't agree more.

I never had to ask party affiliation. I was never attracted to foul-smelling, loud-mouthed, meat-hating, hairy women, but that's just me. Everyone has their own tastes...no offense intended to the aforementioned group.

;)
