Back then as a kid?, NO. But today I thank them every single day. If it were not for them, I'd most likely be in jail or dead.The biggest problem we face today is kids who suffer from LACK-A-SLAP

At the time, no. But now that I'm older, I realize that they did those things because they cared about me. I am the same way with my son. If more people were like that, I don't think there would be half as much violence as there is now. Parents need to learn to not be afraid of punishing their children, up to and including spanking ( a swat on the @ss only!)

no, but then i can't remember really being punished. if i got caught doing something i think i just got initially yelled at and only suffered the fact that i knew i was busted and they were mad. but as far as punishment, never happened. knowing that my folks were let down made me feel crappy enough, didn't stop me from getting in trouble again, but maybe it made me care about people's feelings more or something...

Yes. I needed to feel that boundaries existed. Without boundaries, I'm sure I could have done a lot more things but I would feel like I was drifting with no one watching over me.

Of course. And it was this upbringing that moulded me into the person I am today. One with good morals, knowing right from wrong etc.
