To me, this is a very sad and great tragedy, not only to the people of Pakistan, but to the world.

It means Pakistan, an artifical nation created so the Hindis and Muslims would not have to learn to live in tolerance, will erupt in increased violence. It means the U.S. is supporting another dictator. It means the possibility of nuclear war between India and Pakistan has increased. It means two nations who do have weapons of mass destruction are being ignored by the U.S. It means Pakistan is on the brink of a civil war between the people and a president who can suspend all civil rights, the Constitution of Pakistan and the Judicial system of Pakistan at will. Incidently-no matter how you feel about President Bush-he pleaded for greater protection for Bhutto and was ignored.

I live in Pakistan. I'm completely in shock. I wasn't a supporter of hers, but I am deeply saddened by her death. Unfortunately, it willl have a detremental impact on the country as a whole, not only in the political environment. Bhutto was an extremely popular figure here. There will be rioting and bloodshed initially. The elections scheduled for Jan 8th will be postponed and serious inquires will be held to point the finger as far away from President Musharraf as possible. Pakistani people are already highly agitated and this is the last thing the country needed at this time. Fortunately for the counrty, Bhutto's death will save the nation from another round of corruption and thievery. She was as corrupt as they come in this counrtry.

I feel sad. It's one more example of how radical muslims are screwing over their neighbors in many parts of the world and making their countries far worse places to live for everyone.

Some of the stories my wife tells... yikes. (She is from Iran).
