As with all college admissions, there is no standard. It just depends upon what the rest of the applicants look like and whether your GPA is better or worse than theirs. Certainly for a prestigious law school, it would be very high, especially during times when law school is a popular choice and a lot of people apply.

A few years ago, though, I had a student in my graduate class who, while he seemed like a very nice guy, was barely getting a B+. He asked me to write him a recommendation to law school, but then said, "I need it to be outstanding, so that I can get into a top law school." I told him that while I would be happy to write him a recommendation, my experience told me that he wasn't a fit for a top law school, and I could only write the truth. He got extremely angry at me, but I thought it was kinder to be truthful than to let him go through the process and get rejected. Well, a few years later, I saw it listed in the alumni newsletter that he had gotten a law degree - from a top school! I guess you never know for sure.

In the US, much depends on your LSAT score.
