Why do people in their 20's worry about age so much?

People who are 20 21 22....28 29. They think they are so old. A friend of mine who is 23 all she thinks about is how old she will be....NEXT YEAR. Honestly....even if that were true(it isn't) then you still need to keep on truckin like they say. Why do people in their 20's obssess about age

I think a year seems so much more when we are young, like look at the difference between a 1 and a 3 year old. The years get progressively shorter (in our perception) as we get older. It's funny, I dreaded turning 30, thinking I was over the hill, but now that I'm 48, it's all the same. I don't see any difference between 42 and 48 now.

I think it's because of society is making them grow up. Alot of people who have not established anything (in their eyes) and they feel they are too old to be living at home too old to be in the clubs too old too old too old. Yet really if they had a house, a car, a couple children, a husband/or wife. They would feel pretty young. Everything in this world equates status. I think people should elad their own lives and stop worrying or rushing into being something they aren't life is about experiences and if you worry about everything at a young age (it really is your young days) you will never enjoy yourself. It's a known fact that if you look at a clock every 5 minutes you will miss everything in front of you. So I guess you have to stop looking at the clock you guys. lol

I'm 23 and I know I am young. even at 35 I will be very young. I think you need to stop worrying kids. BTW you are only as old as the people who are around you. if you hang out with 18 yr olds and you say oohhh 26 27 you will be old. If you hang out with 10 yr olds and you are 18 you will be old, if you hang out with people your own age. you will be just as you are.choose your friends wisely lol

I'm 22 and the only reason I think I am getting old is because a good friend of mine who is 22 also just got engaged. Hearing about that just makes think that after I graduate in May that is the next big thing I have to look foward to in life.

The way I see it. I am 27. I never thought about being in my 20's as a teenager and child. I knew one day I would be old like my parents, grandparents and such. But I didn't really think about in between those years. Now I am like WTF, I'm already 27. And realize that time is going by faster every single year. I'm don't think I am "old" in that sense, but old as in wow, I'm going to be 37,47,57 in a blink of an eye. Perhaps it slows down when you get older. But that's how I feel right now.

I wonder that too. My daughter is 24 and having the time of her life, but she worries about finding THE ONE. I had a child at 24 and I think she should just have fun and enjoy her 20's.

Im 23 and I never worry about my age or being so old beacuse I look so youthful I only look about 19 but when you talk to me you would think Im atleast 30, so my days are ageless.

Your 20's suck, when you get to your 30's it doesn't affect you so much. In your 20's you are old enough to be making something of yourself and be responsible, but young enough for elders to continue telling you you're young and have plenty of time or second guess your decisions. You hit 30, they stop second guessing you and you stop obsessing how your life is or isn't.

because we feel like life is more serious now and we need to be more established. its like our teenage fun days are all gone....and now were just lame adults. i am 23 lol

hated turning 23. i still feel like a baby but i am supposedly grown up. maybe thats why. i feel like im getting older and older by the second....oh wait ..lol i am... :(

Because they're young and don't realize that aging does not mean your life is ending.

And of course they're starting to realize they really don't know everything like they thought they did as teenagers.
