Wally! Yes, my mother would watch it and cry and tell me how my grandmother should be on that show. (she was widowed at 32 at the height of the depression with 11 children!)

Trey...yes, my mom would watch it and cry her eyeballs out! She would be ironing while watching and I remember thinking she didn't need to use that "sprinkling bottle" she was wetting the clothes enough with her tears.

Sage........maybe they should bring it back. Perhaps we should form a production company and get it going!

Trey.....I was just thinking about this. I think the host's name was Jack Bailey. I'll have to investigate that and verify it.

One of my friends was "Queen for a Day" many years ago. She mentioned it in her Christmas card to me this year. She said that Jack Bailey was really short and she had to bend over for him to put the crown on her head. She is 6 feet tall. I do remember watching her on the program when she won.

Yes I remember watching that with my Mom. And I always felt sorry for the women who didn't win. Their stories were just as real and sad as the lady who won. Back then, all they seemed to give to the women was a kitchen appliance or something. But today, shows like Extreme Makeover Home Edition with Ty Pennington gives people houses and a new life. We've come a long way.

I have since learned after many years that host Jack Bailey was wrong...women don't prefer to be "Queen for a Day" but rather "Queen for Life."

Yes, I remember that! My mom used to watch it also, and of course I did too! I loved it and used to play Queen for a Day with my girlfriends. An early "reality" show!

Shhh, don't talk too loud about bringing it back, some TV producer will hear you!

I definitely remember watching and enjoying that show with my Mother. Yes, it would be great if something like that came back. Oprah had something similar on her show this week rewarding and surprising a woman who helped children in shelters. Maybe they should have a King and a Queen show. That would be good reality to me.

My late Mom used to watch that show all the time, with Bert Parks, and the crying women.

Yes, I watched that show too. Women won refrigerators, washers, and other things. I think Art Baker was the emcee
of that show.

We lived in LA for a year back then and we went to the show quite often trying to become contestants, to no avail.

I sure remember that show! We didn't have a TV when I was a kid, but my aunt did, and I used to stay with her a lot during vacations. She loved that show! I'd forgotten all about that...thanks for the trip down memory lane!
