the odds of getting pregnant on your period are around .01%
but as far as contraceptive, use condoms, withdrawal method and the "calendar method" where you track your cycle and 12-16 days after your period you don't have sex (on any of those days...at all) other than oral or anal sex, which will also prevent pregnancy

You can get pregnant any time there is viable sperm, a viable egg, and implantation.
Many women do not ovulate during menstruation. But some do!!

when you get your period your uterus lining breaks that is the blood that you see
the uterus lining is important in protecting the baby so without it i don't think you'll get pregnant
