We stayed in Ogunquit last year and loved it. We would like to be walking distance to the ocean with a room that is around $100. Other than that, no rules...anywhere on Maine's coast is great. Any suggestions of your favorites would be great...We have bad luck picking hotels. I would not suggest The Colonial Inn, room size and bathtub were not sufficient.

HI- I know this great website- VRBO.com (vacation rentals by private owners) It shows you map of USA and you click where you want to go. It has links to vacation rentals for cheap.(cheaper than calling a hotel or real estate because it is privately owned) It has houses, cottages, and condos. I love it because it is cheaper and it is homely. It has pictures and description of the place and places you can go in the area. I have used it for all my vacations and it is safe. And the condos I have stayed at were nice and clean!!! The link will tell you where condo is and you can email the owner for more info! TRY it out!!!! GOOD LUCK!

I spent a summer working at a camp in Maine (right outside Augusta)... it was SOOO Pretty!
Check out Portland Head Light- its probably the most famous American lighthouse and its located at Cape Elizabeth.
Also make sure you go to the L.L. Bean store.. its MASSIVE and also the only one in the country.
Have a great time!

Kennebunk or Bar Harbor are nice. Hotel pricing is a little higher, but your on the water and the rooms are pretty big.

Good Luck!

Maine is an intresting area and has a quaint sea shore to explore. For a romanic change of pace it would be a good place to go.
