I was loading a car for a friend and had my black suede boots on. I knew they had gotten wet in the slush and when they dried they ended up with a white salt line on them.

I would wet them with a cloth. I have had this happen and water usually dissolves the salt and removes it fine.

Get a stiff brisled brush and brush them after they are dry. If there is still residue, get a clean cloth wet and leave really wet, get the salt line wet again by tapping the soggy cloth on the line. Let it dry and brush again.

Make sure they are totally dry then get a piece of very fine sanding paper and gently sand them in one direction. Don't rub too hard this should take off the salt line.

Vinegar and water, half and half. Dip a soft cloth, wipe the stains, and let dry.
