Don't even try to find him. March into a attorney's office and file for divorce WITH A CHILD SUPPORT ORDER. The attorney will have to make a half @ss attempt to locate him through newspaper advertisements, just keep your fingers crossed he and his family doesn't read the paper that month, lol. Don't worry about the amount of child support award because you don't know if he is working or where, just get a child support order.that your state allows in cases like this. AFTER you get your divorce and child support order in hand THEN try to find his butt. Keep good records of your contacts with the state child support workers, his family and friends. Who you speak with, promises made and follow ups. You must keep your own records because the state workers are lazy and basically don't care about anything but removing your file off their desks. DON'T trouble your child with this part of your life, it is not his problem or fault. The money is yours, whenever it come in. It might be 18 or 25 years from now, but never quit going after it. You must contact the state workers every 3 to 6 months and KEEP RECORDS.

You need to file a complaint for divorce with the help of an attorney. The complaint will state that your husband's whereabouts are unknown. The court will order you to serve your husband notice of the complaint by publication in a newspaper or newspapers. Once you comply with the notice requirements, then if your husband fails to answer your complaint you can move for a default judgment of divorce.

You need to find out where his family is.to have some kind of an address. You dont necessarily need to find him. They will want his last known address and they can place an add in that newspaper about you filing for divorce.

Go through your paperwork at home and see if somewhere you have his social security number. You will need that to trace him through a lawyer.

get a good lawyer and first I am sure he is not paying child support either so that needs to be addressed as well.

try to locate him through family members or his friends. If no luck you may have to hire a lawyer. If you locate him yourself don't pay a lawyer to costly. Go to your local city county building request divorce packet make three copies one for you, plaintiff, one for him and the courts have him sign and you are divorced within 30 days. Try using his social security number, driver's #, last employers, etc. Be creative...good luck ...I just got mine and I couldn't be happier...
