It is possible but unlikely. Pregnancy 101:

Let's assume your cycles are 28 days apart. Normal scenario:

1. On Day 14, your ovary releases an egg (ovulation).
2. This egg travels into the fallopian tube http://z.about.com/d/p/440/e/f/10339.jpg, where if it is not fertilized in about 24 hours, it dies.
3. If the egg is fertilized, it travels to the uterus, where if the uterine lining and egg are viable (able to support pregnancy), it implants.
4. Your body begins excreting HCG, human chorionic gondaotropin, the "pregnancy hormone" that urine tests detect.
5. HCG is usually detectable about 12 days after a missed period. Some women do not produce enough urine HCG for it to be detected; they must have a blood HCG test.

The above scenario is complicated by the fact that some women do not ovulate on a regular schedule. Ovulation is controlled by estrogen and progesterone, which can fluctuate for many reasons.

Causes for a missed or late period may include:

1. Pregnancy.
2. Recent miscarriage or abortion.
3. Loss/gain of 10+ pounds. Affects hormones.
4. Recently-begun exercise program. Affects hormones.
5. Illness. From common colds to ovarian cysts to adrenal disorders, these can affect hormones.
6. Medications. Especially birth control medications.
7. STDs.
8. Stress. Even everyday stress can affect those adrenals, which then affect your hormones.
9. Age. Some girls take up to 3 years after menarche (first period) to become regular.

As another poster mentioned, pregnancy tests can be false-negative. They can also be false-positive in that implantation can occur, you can test positive, then because the pregnancy isn't viable, the implanted egg is lost with the next menstrual period.

At 11 days late, you may be right on the edge for accurate testing. You may want to wait another 5 days (I know, it's difficult) and retest. If you are truly concerned, you may want to see your physician for a blood HCG test; they should be accurate 1-2 weeks after implantation, or about a week after a missed period.

You should be safe. Our egg's life span is only 24 hours (after ovulation). Sperm can survive for 3-5 days, So you can only get pregnant if you have sex 3 to 5 days before ovulation and in the 24 hours following ovulation.

To calculate the days ovulation use the days of your cycle 28 (or whatever) then minus 16 then add 4, so for example 28 - 16 is 12 + 4 = 16 so ovulation is most likely between days 12 and 16 of a 28 day cycle

Hope this helps

The time frame you can get pregnant is two weeks after you start your period, which is also about two weeks before you start your next period. It can be a duration of one to three days from what I understand. If you don't have your period after three weeks with no positive results, I would make an appointment with the doctors. Your period may be late if you recently started exerciesing heavily. It happens.

i would go to the doctors and have them give u a test. My friend she thought she was pregnant cause she was about 1 week late so i went with her we bought a test it came out negitive. Well a week later we took another one came out negitive and finally like 4 weeks later she took another and it came out positive. 2 days later she went to the doctors and she was 7 weeks along. So they dont always say positive. A test can say negitive but it will NEVER say positive when your not. I would go to the DRs they will either do blood or urine

you could be pregnant, but if you got pregnant the day before your period, you need to wait until your period is 14 days late for the test to be effective
