I only has 2 periods of my life when I watched soaps. First, when I was in college, we all watched "Dark Shadows" (an old soap) and Star Trek at dinner. Second when I was 8 months pregnant, I spent a fair amount of time in front of the TV and watched "Guiding Light" and "The Young and the Restless". I wondered how you can come to care about some completely fictitious characters.

When I was a young boy, my grandmother made me watch "Search for Tomorrow" and "The Guiding Light." with her. I never understood the fascination with these programs, because to me, it seemed like a bunch of angry adults constantly staring intently at one another.

Young Dr Malone, Our Miss Brooks, Ma Perkins, Guiding Light, Brighter Day, Helen Trent, Search for Tomorrow, and I am sure there were a couple more. My mother listened to them all on the radio, and I can remember sitting in the kitchen listening with her. Boy you really made me tax my memory on this one!

I used to be a faithful watcher of The Secret Storm many years ago. I have not watched the soaps since it went off the air.

I remember a lot of the ones already listed, but I watched "The Young and The Restless since shortly after I got out of school. (1977) I was working 3 - 11 shift and my roommates did too - they watched it and I somehow got involved in it. I actually named my youngest son after one of the characters - Dustin Donovan - I think they called him Dusty on the show, but I have always called my son Dustin.
When I switched to day shift, I used to record it - did that for a long time - then life got too busy to have time to watch it, so I quit. When I became disabled this past April, I started watching it again, but had totally lost track of the story line and with new people playing long time roles, I was lost.

Our Gal Sunday
Stella Dallas
Ma Perkins
Life Can Be Beautiful
Lorenzo Jones
Guiding Light
On TV,
Search for Tomorrow
Guiding Light
Edge of Night .... I wish they would revive it, or a new one like it. I liked the "edge of seat" trials. :)

I 'watched' very few soap operas, but loved to listen to them on the radio in the late forties and early fifties. Titles of a few are: Stella Dallas, Backstage Wife, One Man's Family, Just Plain Bill.

confident, I keep in mind it vaguely as a newborn. style of four years in the past the sci-fi channel grew to become into exhibiting 2 episodes of darkish Shadows an afternoon. I have been given addicted to that teach. It grew to become into the bomb! I enjoyed Barnabas and all the different great characters. Kate Jackson from Charlie's Angels grew to become into on there, besides as a great style of different actors and actresses. there grew to become into something so mysterious and different-worldly approximately that teach. I enjoyed gazing it!
