In Medieval times they did not wear coats, over the tunics they wore came a cape and an hood with shoulder cape.

So that might be the reason you can not find it listed as medieval coat.

You can search images in Google, search for coat, pattern and maybe add things like full length or other words you think are fitting.
You will have to weed through a lot of pages that way, but it does not cost anything but time.

If you are short on time you might want to go to a fabric shop where the staff knows what they are talking about, and ask for a pattern there, if you have a picture take it, so they can help you find a pattern that is the same style.

Success.

If you have a sewing shop near you, they all have costume sections in which include medieval styles. Some of them are a little too "fun" costume rather than historical, others are very authentic.

Hard to say without a better idea of what you want? A lady I used to know makes hisorical costumes but without knowing what style you want...?

The mediaeval period covers about 700 years so there are plenty of different fashions covered by that definition including coat type garments.

Try googling Renaissance Fayres or The Society for Creative Anachronism you should find plenty of sites with tips and instructions for making costumes there.
