always OFFER their ID even when you wernt even going to ask for it? you know like their totally afraid that we're NOT going to card them cuz they dont want to look older? maybe im wrong but ive seen this practiaclly evry time sum1 older goes thru my line buying beer or wine. what do u think??

Yeah, it's true. When I used to be a doorman in a bar I carded women of a certain age just to flatter them-it worked.

Yep, Dan it would seem polite to have it out. It also takes the onus off the employee to ask or not to ask, so it saves the employee's fanny in some cases.
Chuck, they are getting just as bad with the check cards now. They knew before they left home they would need the check book or check card at the store.
Resume, if this is your worst work issue you must have a good job.

It isnt because they do not want to look older but many places check for ID's regardless of age. I think it is great they do this as it saves time for the people in line.
I always get stuck behind someone who doesnt have their ID out and when asked for it they whine and complain about how they are obviously old enough. I just want to smack them and say you know they are going to ask for it, just get it out ahead of time.
