My head feels like it wants to explode as it is all blocked up and the pharmacy wont give me anything to take - they say I can take paracetamol but not decongestant. Any advice to relive the pressure building in my head??? Thanks

Go see your doc.
I'm 36 weeks preg and I was allowed to take Sudafed.
They also put me on an antibiotic.
Maybe it's because you're only 5 months that they won't give you anything?
See your doc! You may be suprised!
Good luck :)

I am also 5 months pregnant and after coughing all night and keeping everyone else up I called my OB the next day. She told me I could take sudafed. I went to Walgreens that way I could double check with the pharmacy to make sure I was getting the right stuff. I got daytime and night time. Last night was the first night in days I have slept longer than a couple of hours. I hate taking even Tylenol when pregnant, but I figure all the coughing was keeping the baby up too!

I had this problem a few weeks ago - there are a few things I tried...

Menthol crystals - just sprinkle a couple into boiling water and breathe in with a towel over your head.

Drink boiling water with honey and lemon.

Take paracetamols.

Unfortunately thats about it I feel sorry for you it's awful.

They say though that a cold takes 3 days to arrive, 3 days top make you feel like cr*p and 3 days to go so at least you're not stuck with it!!!

Tell me about it - I've had it for five days now and am seriously considering taking a drill to my head to relieve the pressure! Its a horrid bug. Try steam inhaling - head over a bowl of boiling water with something like Olbas oil in it with a towel over your head for about 15 minutes at a time. Good luck.

You probably just need to rest, tuck yourself up in bed with some hot water bottles and a lemon and honey drink if necessary. Watch all your favourite TV programmes, read magazines, do crosswords and it will soon pass. Indulge yourself without any pressure, after you have the baby you will not get this privilege again for about 15 years!

I suffer really bad with my sinus's, when it's really bad I fill a bowl with very hot water lean over it with a towel over my head and the bowl and breath in deeply. I put Vicks vapour rub in the water too sometimes, but you should ask your pharmacist if this is ok first.
