Sadly, this year, it will be that it was the first Christmas ever without my Dad. =( I lost him in September at only 61 to cancer. My heart has been completely broken since and this was the saddest Christmas I can remember. He was my hero and I will miss him every day for the rest of my life.

He was an amazing man who had the HUGEST and best sense of humor ... was a military veteran and firefighter who gave unselfishly his entire life ... and loved his children very much. Heaven has definitely welcomed another angel.

I know now, however, that 2008 will have to be a much better year. My dad would want that and I will honor him by living the best life I can and trying to make the world a better place in his memory. If there were more people like my dad - we'd all spend a lot more time laughing and a lot less time hating a being angry. What a wonderful world that would be.

Peace to you sweet friend ...

On Christmas Eve I got down to one knee and asked my sweetheart (now fiance) to marry me and she said yes and I put a diamond engagement ring on her finger. I will also remember how great it was to have the entire family and friends over at our house and how much fun we had just being together. My fiance worked so hard and done a great job making all the food along with dishes that other people brought and I was so proud of her. She gave me among other gifts a beautiful Breedlove guitar that she knows I've been wanting for a long time.

I will remember it is my first Christmas with my Yahoo friends. I have made some wonderful friends here, genuine friends who give me support and encouragement and love. I hope I have given them the same.

That my kids were on cloud nine all day. They still have stars in their eyes from the festivities! This was my first Christmas without my grandpa, so they definitely kept my mind off being sad all day.

That I was able to transport an old man to his home (FROM the nursing home) so he could spend the day with his family. His family was so happy I could do this as ALL transport companies were closed for the day.But I take the company transport van home with me on a daily basis and the boss allowed me to do this if I wanted to. YES the boss did get his fees for it.
