Smoking is not the only symptoms of loneliness. In fact it is the biggest punishment when nobody is around U. A lonely person will mostly try to do other odd things also.So be positive & steal the company.I extend myself.

I think the person means whether you see yourself as being by yourself or with yourself.
I do agree that it's a state of mind. Sometimes I crave my own company and other times I feel so terribly alone. It depends on how I feel at the time.
