You can elect any politician you like. A king/queen is definitely not elected

No, if you are going to do that you would have to abolish the monarchy altogether. Really, the idea of an elected monarch is an oxymoron. It defeats the purpose of having a monarch. And you can't skip Charles in the line of succession without good reason. It doesn't work that way. Besides, what's wrong with the way things are now? What little power the queen does have she uses to good effect. To dissolve the monarch would be an unnecessary robbing of the UK's culture.

How on Earth would you elect a King or Queen?
You have obviously no understanding of the constitution or succession or you wouldn't ask such a question.

No they shouldn't our monarchy has reformed enough and we must strive to support Her Majesty as Head of State as she is far better than having some jumped up, normally hideously expensive president as Head of State.

Must we even bother ? When was the last time the actually done something for this country ?
I know that they have no real powers , but if they even cared about anything but themselves and voiced their opinions now and then , any elected government would listen and perhaps do something to address the problems that affect our country.
