an addiction is a patern, not so much frequency. in addiction the addict cannot go without, he needs that fix. the cycle is something like you act out, feel good for a moment, then feel guilty and ashamed for having acted out, try to abstain only to finally feel so bad that you have to act out again to relieve feeling bad.

one person could masturbate all day long, and if his esteem about it is in the right spot, he could be perfectly healthy. another might only do it once a week, but if it is driving a cycle of shame and guilt, it isnt healthy. one thing i have found is a lot of whether something is healthy or not depends largely on your personal outlook on it.

My husband and I have been living together for 4 months now after being apart for the first year and 3 months of marriage - he is in the military and I was finishing grad school in another state. Anyway, we have a good sex life, for the most part. When we have it, its good. However, I want it everyday. He says he ideally would like to have sex everyday, but he works a lot and is tired a lot of the time. I get frustrated because he will spend time on the computer watching anime and comics, checking email, face book, whatever, but he doesn't think to make time to f**k me. I am usually the one to initiate it, which drives me crazy, especially when he turns me down. Also, if he's home alone, he will look at porn and masturbate. He said that this was a daily thing before I moved to be with him, and now he masturbates maybe 2x a week. If masturbating was a daily thing, why not make sex with me a daily thing? This is what makes me mad. His work is demanding and he does shift work, meaning his schedule changes every week. As of now, we have sex 3-4 times a week on average, less if we are having a rough week and arguing. I'm not working right now, but even when I've been very busy, I want sex. Is this normal? BTW, I'm 30 and he's 29. listen to yourself
