'Giving birth to' has a different meaning. God created chicken and a mate for it, so that both enjoyed and gave birth to an 'egg'.
To differentiate us the humans from chickens, he made them lay eggs instead of chickens straight.

Okay, here's what my friend and I came up with
Right before the dinosaurs became extinct, two species cross breeded and laid two eggs. One hatched into a hen, the other a rooster. (are hens female chickens? anyway, one male, one female). So the egg came first.
PS-If you're thinking biblicaly, God didn't give "birth" to any of the animals. He created them and told Adam to name them. So in that case, it'd just be the chicken.

The answer to your question depends on personal belief about the origin of life on Earth.
From a creationist point of view, it would be valid to say that God created chickens, and eggs were secondary. Evolutionists consider it valid that eggs from other creatures preceded the appearance of birds (and therefore chickens).

Depends on your personal point of view. Scientifically, it

would be the egg, preferably a breed from reptiles. However,

from a religious point of view, God created the chicken.

If you believe in the Christian concept of creation, the correct answer would be the chicken because God created all "living things".

The egg. Reptiles laid eggs before the chicken came.

this is NOT a question of religion!
It was definitely the chicken, cuz who would have been there to sit on the egg until it hatched?

God created all creatures. He formed man first, then the animals, then eve. The whole story is written in a wonderful book called THE BIBLE, pick it up and read it some time. You might find some wonderful answers in there.
