Im renting at the moment - although early next year we are going to buy our own place - very exciting and scary!

I own my home outright, it was a bit of a struggle at times but sooooo worth it.

i live with my parents who own the house, but i make them pay rent... not really..... you may want to wait a few months as the real estate market is declining and you may get a better deal, have more options, and afford more house if you wait a few months... look at market in your area and find out if # forclosures are going up, # houses for sale going up, # of new houses beingbuilt going down, and # sales going down.. all these are indicators of declining market... jump in when they slow or start to go the other way otherwise you may find yourself 2 years from now in a house where you owe more than you could ever sell it for...
