Burn all your Data to CD or DVD or copy it to an external drive or pen-drive ...then do a complete clean install of XP ... you should aslo back-up your DRIVER folder so you can get most of your internals working again ... ot better still ... go to the manufacturers website and download all the XP drivers for your model

yes it can be done

Many r doing it.

You just boot PC/ laptop from CD. Put a bootable CD of Xp. Then install windows XP. During installation, do not tell him to format.

It works. Just ask it to install without formating.

The only way is to make backups of your data. Installing a previous version of Windows requires removing the existing partition.
