I just bought 2 gb on ram for my PC. I've checked and the PC that I own CAN have a max on 2gb, I also made sure that I bought the right type.
I just installed the ram and turned on the computer and there is no video signal. The computer powers up and all, just no video.
I also made sure that I grounded myself before touching anything.
If anyone could help me figure out what is wrong here I'd greatly appreciate it.

BTW right now I am going to try and put the old ram back in, to see if that will work.

Thanks in advance.

I just tried the old ram, It did work.

Also, the monitor made a clicking sound when I turn the computer on.

The ram that is in the pc now is pc2100 ddr (256mb...)
The ram that I bought is pc2100 ddr
(And other than the old one being 2 sticks of 128mb and the new one being 2 sticks of 1024 mb, everything else is the same.

Depends on where you bought the Ram ...whether it's the right Ram ... whether it's compatible Ram ...or maybe it's just not seated right .... or maybe you even knocked the graphics card when you replaced the Ram ...could be any 1 of a dozen reasons

Sometimes when inserting ram, the board gives and unseats the video card. Check that the ram and video cards are inserted by giving them another firm push. Also, some machines with up to 2 GB capability will only take 1 GB per slot.
