I wasn't focusing just on spelling; I don't think that bad spellers are necessarily "idiots."
Did you all not notice that my question was about our *educational system* - implying that the general ignorance displayed here is indicative of a failure of *society*?
Although, of course, we do have our fair share of the genetically and willfully ignorant *sigh*

Also, to the hater - If I assumed that everyone on here was an American, I would not have made the parenthetical clarification.
Duh.

Absolutely! I'm glad someone else noticed this. Now I know I'm not the only one. I've observed several different types of idiots on here.
1.) The ones who ask dumb questions, such as: "What did Jesus do to celebrate Christmas?", or "How much does a five ton box of feathers weigh?."
2.) Those who can't spell, despite the built-in spell-checker.
3.) Those who use what I call "caveman speak," for example:
"How big Earth circumference at equator?"
4.) Some people say things which are so offensive, they get deleted.
5.) Some people ask such obvious questions it's RIDICULOUS to think that they actually didn't KNOW the answer.
"Should I go to the hospital if my face is blue, and there's a bunch of blood constantly streaming from both of my ears?"
Someone once said there's no such thing as a stupid question... They lied! This website is PROOF that they lied!
And apparently, many MANY people don't know how to use Google, or Wikipedia.
Those are just a FEW examples. I could go on and on. When I went to my mom's house on Christmas, I was telling her and my stepfather about some of the things people have posted on here, and we all laughed. It was a good dinner conversation, and yes, it can be considered sad and shameful at times.
*Note: I realize that my 1st and 5th categories of idiots seem very similar, but the ones in category 1 are at least TRYING to ask serious questions, which they simply didn't think all the way through before asking... People in category 5 are on a whole different LEVEL of stupid.

No. The schools are teaching, but if the student doesn't want to learn, it's not the schools fault. Some kids think they're too cool to learn. Then when they get older, and can't get a job, they realize they don't know anything. Some kids go all the way through the school system, and still can't read or write? Then they just lay around and want mommy and daddy to support them. Or, they walk the streets homeless.

The ones that assume everyone on here is American make me suspicious that some Americans really do think they are the only people in the world.

I'm torn on that one. I'm a product of the American education system and I got through it with 3 digits in my I. Q.. But I do wonder about some of these people.

No, systems are usually not to be ashamed of. The people count. If some Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and Christians are terrorists, do you become ashamed of Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Christianity? So here in Answers we are to learn and earn respect and reciprocal amour, not hatred.

No, cause of the age of computers, cellphones, etc. Plus the lack of hours for kids to get a chance of a good education. In my area kids go to school less than 20 hours a week. How can they learn. It's call shortcuts. Take care.

No, I keep in mind that the only way for me to have a better life than the rest of the country is for me to be smarter than them. Seeing some of the answers confirms that I am still up there thus keeping the status quo.
And I also keep in mind some of them are senseless answers with no intention but to have a good laugh

I agree, either people are really bad spellers, don't proof read, very bad at grammar, or it is the use of some really lame form of slang in their Q and A's. Pretty sad, there is times when you have no idea what people are trying to ask because of their grammar.

It's not the questions or answers that bother me; it's the mis-spelling. Especially since spell check is available before you submit a response...

Low IQ is not about educational system. Maybe you're avoiding talking about IQ or evolution?
