No, but plenty of cities in the suburbs (especially in OC California) will try to run them out of town. I can think of two occasions where that has happened in the area I live in. They succeeded with one. Some members of the community believe that they attract the wrong kind of attention to the area. Stupid if you ask me. What someone does in their bedroom isn't my business and just because a sex shop opened up down the street doesn't mean that the corner is going to suddenly flood with prostitutes and pedophiles. Anyway no they aren't illegal but I am sure there are plenty of people that want them to be :)

No, I know of a couple around where I live. If by you mean a place to buy sex toys and what not. But if you mean sex shops to get actual sex then only in Nevada are brothels legal.

different races can get married, and the law of the land is capitalism!
Eh no, sex shops (what are called adult stores) are not illegal
but they must comply with zoning laws. They usually do not allow one to get a business license right across from a grade school, or church.

Not really, although in some cities they've been banned from certain neighborhoods due to petitions and pressure from citizens' groups that don't want their filth around schools, churches, etc.,.

no they are not. where i live the religious zealots have gotten a foothold in our city counsel and now they are closing all of them down due to the "increase" of crime in and around them. which is pure bull. they, the zealots, have even went so far as to ban sex toys and their sale in the state of alabama. you can't even get them through the mail. but there are a few within a few HUNDRED miles of where i live. happy happy joy joy

No, in the town that I live in we have like seven sex shops and one of them is GLBT only. There are even more in the towns around us.
