Can we live on Mars?
Many scientists believe that in the near future, humans may be able to leave Earth to live on Mars.
But living there won’t be simple.
Mars is poorly suited for human habitation. There’s some ice at the poles and perhaps some water in underground repositories. Gravity is only 38 percent as strong as on Earth. The atmosphere is thin and consists mostly of carbon dioxide (95%). So colonists would have to either take air from Earth or make air on Mars. Plants efficiently separate the oxygen bound to carbon and therefore can make air we can breathe, so colonists should take plants along.
The Martian atmosphere is too thin to hold oxygen, which would just escape to space. So the plants would have to be cultivated in greenhouses and the oxygen they produce kept in flasks.
Today, there are no concrete, approved plans for sending people to Mars. The earliest date mentioned in official papers is 2019, which would be 50 years after the first Moon landing.

Yes, but not in the near future. As far as I know Mars has a weak magnetic field and a thin atmosphere which makes it much more susceptible to cosmic radiations than Earth. Recent reports suggest Mars has some water. May be we could build underground enclaves which took care of human and other Earth type life form's needs. But that has to be a global effort given the resources involved. Also we need better technology than what we have today. May be two or three hundred years later our descendants can give it a serious thought.

According to astrologer's in NASA "no". Mars has a very thin atmosphere which can hold life only for probably a few seconds. A single person cannot live his whole life on the planet. Mars is also Much more colder than earth and man needs a lot of shelter to survive on this cold planet.
I think this Que. is interesting.

there are already living beings which live on the planet mars. It is not possible for man to live on mars. So never in the future will man land on Mars.

I tink so. As scientists found that Mars has water, we can live. But the only thing is, the Mars is colder than the earth. But in future, technology may advance n we can settle in Mars. And 1 more thing, the atmosphere is thin n so there may be a chances of entering UV rays....

In the far future its a possibility, This is not going to happen for a long time, But yes i do believe that man will eventually inhabit Mars but not in the way we inhabit earth, They will need prtection from radiation, dust storms, atmosphere and many other issues on the red planet,,

It is possible for life to exist on Mars. For Man to love in Mars the temperature and atmospheric conditions will have to be altered and redesigned in order to be conducive for human existence on the red planet

well yes. i think it may be possible in the future but after some decades. we have found certain conditions like water, trace elements, etc. the atmosphere can also change due to some meteorites. we must keep a close look on mars for our survival.

Tricky ... we really ought to be thinking about getting out of this solar system all together as leap frogging to other planets in this solar system will not help mankind when the sun explodes. Everything up to Mars will be vapourised and possibly beyond

Don't you see that we have already, in our crass greed, selfishness and stupidity, littered this one planet where life exists and made it into a huge dustbin full of trash and debris ?
Don't you agree that we have caused innumerable bomb explosions both as tests and in practice thereby disturbing Nature's equilibrium and destabilising it ?
Don't you look at the newspaper/ t.v which recount all the tragedies of war ?
Mother Earth is giving signals that she can bear it no more by abrupt and catastrophic climate changes..
Atleast, please leave Mars alone..!
