I like Rose right now, but neither are the best freshman in college. Kansas State's Michael Beasley is having a terrific season and so is Indiana's Eric Gordon.

As for who the Lakers will get in the '08 draft, you may as well take a list of the top 100 players in college and start throwing darts. It is way to early in the season for that. What if Kobe gets hurt and the Lakers lose 15 in a row, miss the playoffs, get a lottery pick and they end up with the number one pick...or they could trade for Kidd, become on of the top teams in the NBA and pick 28th. We just have no idea of knowing. Not to mention, we don't have the slightest clue which underclassmen will come out early and I've yet to hear anything about what foreign players might be interested in the NBA.

As of right now, O.J. Mayo has proved to be nothing more than am average perimeter player meaning he does nothing particularly extraordinary but it does some things very well. I've yet to see O.J. Mayo "take over" a game and truly doiminate.

As for Rose, he may one day become a top PG if he ever gets a legitimate jumpshot.

In my opinion the best college freshman player is Kansas State's Michael Beasley.

DR will have a better career b/c oj seems to not have the greatest head on his shoulders and I think the pressure will get to him. Because he has had the spotlight on him for quite awhile, kind of like Lebron, but Lebron has been unbelievable in how he has handled all the pressure/expectations/critics.
