This above all: to thine own self be true; And it must follow, as the night the day; Thou canst not then be false to any man.

What I have learned is never take your love for granted. I had the most wonderful person in my life. She was my perfect soulmate and I moved away to follow a career choice that had a 50/50 chance of working. She asked me to stay numerous times but I took it for granted and two years apart she moved on. So if I learned anything that is that compromise is a must in life. Even if my career had went according to plan and I made the money I thought was possible without her to share it with still would have no happiness to my life.

Sorry Curlee there is no one important thing I have learned in 30 yrs in Military and 2 marriages. At age 64 all of my life's experiences have impacted and changed me in some manner or fashion. Throughout life we are the sum of our experiences and since most of us have little things that go on in our lives daily and an occasional big thing pay attention everyday.

don't rush relationships and wait until older to get married. I've been married 3 times.
sometimes, really sad events happen for a greater cause.
lord giveth and the lord taketh away...blessed be the lord. Most of anything that meant anything to me has been taken away, and still l am here.
You only have a few friends in your lifespan. True friends.

The world doesn't revolve around you. This means that you may have to take a hit, and get hurt to benefeit someone else, but you'll be a better person for it in the end.

Life is way to short to take friends for granted, and to have regrets. Every day might be you last so make it worth it.
