To thine own self be true......in the sense that we have to be honest with ourselves if we are to ever be happy ...much less content. This entails accepting our faults...changing what needs to be changed and accepting and forgiving ourselves for what we can't change. Being honest with what we really want from life, from our relationships, from our jobs....anything else will fall short. Being honest with our goals....what is realistic....what is fantasy. It is how you lived and loved while you were here.......not how much money you made nor whom you impressed. Try not to hurt others. Pray for mercy as opposed to justice. And....KEEP YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR!!....least your sanity slip. Love life.....I'm a child at 46.

I'm 17 years old.

Well, apart from book knowledge, I haven't learned a tremendous amount because I'm still quite young. However, the most important thing I learned in my life so far is that you shouldn't care what people think of you. Just because everyone has a different perception of what a person should be, doesn't mean you have to change your whole personality based on someone else's opinion. Instead, you should do what you want to do, act the way you desire to( as long as it's not going to hurt anyone physically), have your own beliefs and even dress the way you want to. Because conforming based on what people think is only going to make things harder, and if you be yourself, then things would be so much easier.

Plus, I also learned that life is only going to get harder through the years, based of the many dangers of this world. So, while a person is young, they better enjoy it while they can.

this is tough, i'll have to give about 10 (in no particular order):

1- always tell your parents you love them back even if you're with a bunch of guy friends

2- there are very few things in this world a talk with a loved one (e.g. a mom, older sibling, good friend, aunt) won't at least help a little

3- time doesn't necessarily make a lost love any easier, you've got to put yourself back out there, meet new people, and live life

4- (some people might not take this seriously) fast food and eating out is rarely worth it, it seriously cuts into your funds more than you realize and piles on the lbs

5- serving any single government should NEVER come before serving your lord, and your brothers and sisters in the global community

6- oysters and beer can not be consumed alone for an entire day

7- every now and then make time for yourself, go to a movie, take a walk, sit on the beach, lock yourself in your room and listen to music, the mind is a powerful thing and needs some time to gather itself

8- don't worry about little things, stress will generally create a greater burden than little day to day issues

9- racism and the symbols that perpetuate it is stupid, everyone has the capacity for the same range of emotions. white, black, brown, or yellow skin should not determine how you are treated by a government, it's citizens, and it's corporations

10- if you are scared of your life ending, it may never begin

(I'm 20 by the way)

* If you try to find the meaning of life, you forget to live.

* Always push yourself to the limits. Try to become what you dream with what you have.

* A friend in need is a friend indeed.

* If you fail in sth, don't quit or say:i'm nothing, but try to fond ways to get better (why not perfect) next time.

* Don't be reacist. It's so stupid ! Accept others no matter what they are ! We are all the same.

* Many people fail, cuz they haven't realised how close they came to success and stopped trying.

* Beauty is what we feel like, not what we look like.
Cofidence is what makes us really sexy.

* ''There is nothing worse than aggressive stupidity.''

I'm 17.

So far, the thing I've observed most is that,

It's never as good or as bad as it seems.

Although I'm also partial to

"There are many cases of particulars" (Aristotle's Ethics), and that basically things are never univocal and simple.

It would have to be that one needs to always evaluate the accuracy of one's beliefs. Life with prejudices isn't much of a life. 19
