Yeah... but again, wouldn't it have major drawbacks in a way? with a world devoid of a lot of things that contribute to society today?

Well any talent-not just performing arts.

I'm aware that talent in general actually can't be omitted.Omitting talent is like taking out necessities in order to survive. That's why I want an opinion of what would happen in your perspective.

Talent can't be "omitted." We would not be here. No one would have had the talent to invent the wheel, discover fire, harness the wind, water, etc. Without talent, humans, and all creatures, would have died out long ago. It isn't a possibility and it isn't even something that can be speculated about. If you want to limit your definition of talent, then it can be pondered, but that would be an insult to those whose talents might be in the sciences, or engineering, or simply creating a new and appealing way to eat peas. To be blunt, it is a pointless question.
EDIT: Again, it can't be omitted, so I can't possibly have an opinion on what would happen. The world would slowly grind to a stop because we'd all be zombies? If it was never present, we would not exist. What do you mean speculate on the possibility? There is no possibility!
I don't mean to sound so contrary. but to me this is like asking--speculate on what your life would be like if you were dead. I don't see how it can be done unless the concept of talent is severely abridged.
EDIT: I don't think talent is something you're either born with or you're not. Might there be a few "talents" that fall into that description? Maybe. Being born with certain abilities certainly make developing those abilities into talents easier, but with the exception of a few with actual problems (tone deaf) talents can be learned and developed (singing/vocal coaches). There are acting schools, dancing schools, cooking schools, I've known people without particularly high IQs who have developed exceptional talents in engineering. We are for the most part created equal, but many of us become convinced that others are more fortunate, or that we are not good in a particular area (like people believing they can't be strong in math and science if they are strong in the humanities and art). Talents can be developed and learned, though we may all start from different starting points.
To imagine omitting talent because one is insecure about one's own talents is like the person you always see in movies who doesn't want to get ahead by doing better but by bringing others down. It isn't talent that needs to be omitted but insecurities that need to be omitted. Like I mentioned before, talent can't be omitted or we would not exist.

I like your question. Being a person with no particular talents,
i would love to be in a world like that.Ofcourse u won't have breathtaking performances. But at least the vast majority with limited talents won't be so insecure and shy. No one will have any stage frieght and everyone will participate and have fun.
wow!!
EDIT ...After going thruogh the other anwers:
Well ,i'm imagining a world without talents as one where everyone is born with equal capabilities.you will have the option to workhard and develop your inerests.
I don't say that talented people don't workhard. But if you are talented, it'll be easy for you to workhard.
What i'm saying is, in today's world only people born with good voice can become a good singer. Can you say anyone can become a singer by working hard?
similarly you have to be born beautiful or handsome to be a model or actress. Can anyone simply workhard and become a model?
you have to have certain IQ to ecxel in science and engineering.
We cannot choose our talents, can we? I might be talented in painting ,but what if i want to be a singer? I can do only those things which i'm talented in. Going after somrthing else will be a waste of time.
That's why i want to imagine a world where everyone is born with same abilities and choose to excel in whatever field they want by working hard.

By your wording I assume you mean theatrical or performing talent.
First of all, my brother's education would be for naught (He's a theater major.) Second of all, we'd all have to find something besides shows, music, works of art etc. to pass the time with. That would mean no plays, no tv, no movies, no instruments to play, no songs, no video games, no Yahoo Answers.
Life would, in short, be nothing but work.

Unfortunately, we cannot omit talent from our society even if we wanted to.
Talent is not anything you can mandate. It is like brilliance. When brilliance shines through, it sparkles so that you get blinded and awestruck by the light. It takes your breath away.
