I don't know what the Nat. Geographic show discussed, but here's some thoughts: The universe has four components: matter, energy, space, and time. Theoretically, at the exact moment the universe began, time and space did not exist and all matter and energy were collapsed into a singularity that had no spatial or temporal dimensions. If an object had no spatial or temporal dimensions, it would fit anywhere, including your palm.

It can't. By definition the universe includes your hand, therefore you can't hold it.
