It really depends - I hire people all the time with tech-incubator program degrees. Like I said, it really depends on the person. It's the right place for some, and not for others.
To be honest, there are many, many, four-year institutions that are well below ITT Tech academically (i.e. Texas Tech, Hawaii, and even LSU: all three, for example, were in jeopardy of losing their accreditation).
It's respectable to graduate from ITT Tech, however.

Hi. I came across this post recently and noticed that the comments listed here are from 6 years ago! Way out of date to get any idea of the credibility and respectability at ITT Tech.
I just started this week with ITT Tech as a student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. I've been to Community College, transferred to a 4-year University, earned my degree, and now I'm back again to earn a degree in a much more specialized area. I experienced the best of both worlds from Online Education and On-Campus Education.
The curriculum ITT Tech has to offer in a specialty field (IT or ET) is a very competitive curriculum across all institutions and universities. If you'd like to pursue any other School of Study ITT has to offer, I would recommend you to look into a university. The reason being is because the competition is much broader scale than that of IT or ET.
The classes are set up to advance you one step further into your related field.
Plus, every class is strongly emphasizing the course study with a related field workplace. ITT has done a great job so far in helping me, as a new student, to understand what jobs and careers are available in my field of interest. I see numerous jobs and positions available around the country from companies that actually take interest in students from ITT. It's up to me to take that step toward applying my research and studies toward that career.
If you're indecisive about making a change to ITT-Tech to pursue or continue your career path. Schedule an appointment to tour the campus, meet the staff, and understand what your study interest expectations are and see if ITT is right for you. Don't read negative comments about biased information from people who claim to be a staff member or someone else of importance. Get your own idea of what ITT has to offer you - then make your decision.
Who's to judge you for taking the next step toward advancing your career?

Yes, It is a very respected school. Like Jack S said, there are horrible schools out there. ITT Tech isn't one of them. Small school, small classes. It's quite expensive, but there are scholarship/ and opportunity loans out there. My AS degree was 26k, Not too bad! But you get what you pay for!
Yeah there's no cafeteria :/ But I never used the cafe at CC anyways, it was always closed?! And i mean quite honestly I was there for 3 hours....
I attended a community college, and was lost! I didn't know how to schedule my classes, what classes to schedule, in what order, or when. Then once I got the right ones scheduled, after being on waiting lists and not getting into some of the classes I needed to, It was miserable! ITT Tech, The scheduling is done for you! Based on if you want mornings or nights, and one day a week for each class. Sure its 4-5 hours at times, but its ONCE a week. You can even TEST OUT of classes, like I did! Comp 1, And Math 1 since I've taken both before at CC, and was fresh in those areas. Everyone is so helpful as well. I LOVE ITT TECH. I never saw myself getting through CC, but now I know I will Be graduated NEXT JUNE:)
It's also about what you put into HONESTLY. No one can shove it down your throat....
My employer is the one that suggested ITT, He has hired their grads before and I guess loves it bc they are so built around the IT field,

Using the internet as a resource to determine your life decisions rather than finding out on your own is a huge mistake, as the internet is full of biased and false accounts making false claims. People get paid to give ITT Tech bad reviews, make false websites with false accusations.
The fact is, no one listens and just likes to sign papers these days and expect ITT Tech to hand them a degree because they paid the school, thinking they "Paid the school off" and they are entitled to a given grade, leading them to have excessive absences, missed assignments, and possibly put 65% effort into understanding the material. So when they come out of ITT Tech or any other College, employers ask them a few questions to find out how well they do their job and they are like a deer in headlights and don't get the job regardless of their Bachelors. You will get back what effort you put in to understanding and learning the material. This is why people find themselves in debt and jobless, because they expect everything to be handed to them with minimal effort. ITT Tech is not a shortcut, the material is challenging and there is a lot of information to take in. You need to have some sort of intelligence to attend this college and be successful. If you do not take advantage of the resources available to you, you will be a school cafeteria cook (No offense) with a BA in Networking, or whatever it is you hoped for.
There is a huge difference between a job and a career, if people can't grasp that basic concept, then there is no reason for them to be going to ITT. They lead you to water, but they aren't going to force you to drink, this is college life, you are all grown up now, take control of your own life, be responsible for your own actions, stop complaining and blaming everyone else for your failure and debt. Wake the hell up and get yourself moving in the right direction.
College isn't for everyone, that's why there are technical institutes. You need to know what you want to do and do it. You won't be taking nonsense classes to fulfill electives here, it's not a Liberal Arts school. I think college makes you well rounded if your are straight out of high school, and have no direction in life, whereas everything sounds like a good idea. You should go to college first to get the experience. When you are tired of messing around there and are sick of taking nonsense courses that have nothing to do with what you want as your profession in life, then find a tech school... as long as they offer the program you are interested. If it's a lawyer or Doctor you are interested in being, your pretty much screwed with having to go to expensive colleges. On the other hand, if you want to be a nurse, ITT has a good nursing program to get you all the certs you need.
I have found Colleges and Universities do not care as much about their students as people say they do because of the old for-profit/not for profit excuse. You will find a few good teachers here and there, but most of the time, but whether for profit or not, in reality, everyone is out to make a dollar, and no one cares what you do, or if you pass or fail. It almost feels as if basic colleges have a quota of students that must fail or score low grades. This is where favoritism come into play between teachers and students in your everyday JC. It's a given fact where if they don't fail, or have that "Variable Slope" as one teacher called it when he was explaining it to us, on a certain number of students, it throws a red flag and they are then under investigation. Thats when I finally had enough of the college nonsense, cut the excess crap and went to ITT.
It has been the best decision I have made. I should have gone there in the first place. Just don't expect a handout, or you will become a statistic leaving another negative review on the internet of how the school screwed you over.

I've heard that it's overpriced for what it is. But I could be wrong, this is just what I've heard.
As far as being respectable, I think it depends on your field. If your field is strictly tech or whatever, I doubt it even matters where you go, it matters more about your skill and experience level.
If you plan on moving up in a company at some point though, get a 4 year degree instead.

The school that you attend or graduate from is not as important as the competencies that you bring to the table. This is the reason why so many of the online or technical schools fit so well for working adults. Working adults already have jobs, they just need the skills that a college degree will provide to further their career. In total, for working adults, I don't think the school is so important as long as it is accredited.
For those just out of high school, I would recommend a more traditional institution....not because of the "respectability" the institution, but because they are more oriented towards the traditional learner.
