I think Bud Selig has a lot of respect for every team playing the game and he shows why baseball is a good sport that's played in America. I honestly think he should be the head coach to a baseball team, maybe for the Red Sox.

I disapprove of Bud Selig. He hasn't done anything right in the past decade. Half the time, I dont think he even realizes that he's the commissioner of the league, and not just any baseball official. I think it'd be beneficial to the league after he retires in 2009.

When he first became the acting commissioner, I thought he did a pretty good job with the addition of the Wild Card and divisional playoffs. But since that addition, I dont think he handled anything the right way. The players' strike was detrimental, and I thought cancelling the World Series n whatnot was a bad move. The way he handled the Montreal Expos and some other teams in 2001 was very poor. Calling the tie in the all-star game was wierd too. And finally, I dont think he's done anything right in this whole steroid era; and that he only started the Mitchell investigation to get some heat off of himself and nothing else.

I'm not a fan of Bud Selig. He doesn't seem like he cares. Getting him to follow the Home Run chase was like pulling, he showed no emotion when the greatest sports record ever was broken. I know its a tainted record but its still a big deal and if your the commissioner of baseball you should show some enthusiasm. He's also the reason the NL Central is the only division with 6 teams. If he would have left them in the AL then every division would have an even 5 teams and it would allow the NL teams to play each other more often.

You must be one of the few that feel that way....Bud Selig is and has been nothing but a lackey for the owners of MLB teams. He has always sided with the owners, since they are the ones who keep him in power and pay his salary. His constant quotes of "for the good of the game", etc. should be read as "for the good of the team owners". He never has come up with any fresh ideas of his own on how baseball should be run. He relies completely on the opinions/suggestions of the owners. He was one of them once, and is still doing them favors. He should resign "for the good of the game"!

Head coach? What is that? Well, yes, Selig respects the owner since he was one himself. He protects the players since he hid steroids for years. Yes, he's great. Just like the rest of MLB his motto is: Fans? FANS? Screw the fans. They're only good for money!

Selig has done a great job for the team owners and he continues to get high praises from them. Since they are the ones who pay his salary it really makes no difference what any of us think coming from our point of view.
