I really love Act 1. Act 2 just doesn't do it for me- i felt it was unnecessary and didn't have any good songs...
At any rate, Break a Leg!

I love Into The Woods. Personally I think the show rocks. As soon as I try to pick out a favorite part, I start listing them instead. I think you'll have a great time and you'll end up wanting to do it again. There's a really good DVD of a staged version that you could watch starring Bernadette Peters as the Witch (circa 1990). It will be very similar if not exactly what you wil perform if you are doing the regular (and not Jr.) version. If you don't know the show, look here: http://www.musicaltheatreaudition.com/shows/intothewoods.html

Yes, the step sisters are definately a unit, as someone above mentioned. While I think it's best to develop your own character, you might gain some insight by watching the DVD of the show, with Joanna Gleason and Bernadette Peters. It's a brilliant, moving, funny, sad show. Sondheim is truly a genius.

i was in ITW two years ago, it was my first musical (i was Jack's Mother, my friend was a stepsister), and also the first musical at my school in over 20 years, so i might be slightly biased, lol, but i think its a very good show. there are good morals to the story.
the stepsister is a decent sized part, they each have a few speaking lines. all in all, the parts don't vary that much in size, everyone is on stage a good bit, not like some other shows that mainly focus on a few central people.
hope everything goes well, break a leg!

OMG! Into the Woods in FANTASTIC, one of my favorites! I think the main thing you should do is really get to know your other sister because I think its best when they act as one rather than two sisters! But that's just me...

It's a really great show. My town's high school performed it a few years ago. It was definitely entertaining.

I love Into the Woods jr. I am not that big a fan of the second half, I like a happy ending.
