Oh C'mon!!! Brown, Cornell, etc.etc counted before STANFORD!!!
I'd say... Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, and the rest could come from those others..But Harvard, Yale AND STANFORD are the first THREE!! Can anyone point us where to find the official ranking?!? This should help a lot...

Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Dartmouth, Columbia, Cornell, U. Penn, Brown (they're roughly in that order when ranked)
Great Non-Ivies: Johns Hopkins, Stanford, MIT, Vanderbilt, Purdue
Top Five Public Universities (all of which can guarantee an education as good as the Ivies)
Cal-Berkeley, U. of Virginia, U. of Michigan, U. North Carolina, Cal-Los Angeles.

I wouldn't say all of the best 5 colleges in the U.S. were Ivies. If I were to list the top 5 Ivies, I would probably say:
Harvard
Yale
Princeton
University of Pennsylvania
Columbia
If the top 5 Universities in the U.S., I would probably include MIT, Stanford, and Cal Tech before all except, perhaps, Harvard.

Rutgers isn't an Ivy League university.
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia are probably the four best known and respected. Massive tie for fifth after that - all have their strengths, and they're all great schools that 80%+ of applicants fail to get into.
Edit to add - ha ha ha ha... Stanford isn't an Ivy either, princess.

There are only 8 Ivy League universities total. I don't know why you'd sort them into a top 5 and a bottom 3.
Brown
Columbia
Cornell
Dartmouth
Harvard
Penn
Princeton
Yale

Can not pick the top 5 unless you have a particular subject field. They all have strengths
