If she won't contest it, and you can reach an amicable agreement over how to divide the assets (unless you had a prenup in place), you can get divorced next month. In Illinois, anyway, you need to be separated for 6 months, and the months you've been separated prior to filing count. You'll need a lawyer to draw up the papers (Got mine for <$1000) and appear in court with you. Again, if she's not contesting, she need only sign the divorce agreement and not even go near the courthouse. You, however, will need to make a brief appearance as the judge makes it official.

be separated for a year two at most with no sex between the two have a witness who can atest to that fact and you can file for an uncontested divorce. where you and her agree to be divorce before a judge. he will ask the witness a few question and the two of you than stamp the papers for the divorce but she must agree to have the divorce. if she doesnt want the divorce than you will have to see a lawyer. which can be expensive. Just call around for the cheapest lawyer you can find- its called an uncontested divorce if there are no kids and you don't fight over any property. Have the papers worked up- any idiot cheap lawyer can do it for you. It is basicaly a "form letter" where they type in your names. When the layer calls her to sign she either will and your troubles will be over for give or take about $500 or you get the papers rewritten and start agian to get her to sign. If she still refused your lawyer can tell you how to get one w/out her signing. You don't really need her to agree to it, it just has a longer waiting period if she refuses. Just because she will not sign does not mean she will remain married to you against your will. good luck....

18 consecutive months of separation and you are set according to the courts... but I would suggest you at least try a family therapist to see if there is anything at all that you could work on.
I have heard of so many guys marrying the same woman twice because they felt like they didn't give the first time a real chance.

Get an attorney, file the paper work, wait for your court date, then enjoy the rest of your life.
The hard part is learning from your mistakes.
