I would have to say birth because i believe life starts when someone takes a breathe on their own.

so sorry for your loss. That is a hard question to answer. For me it is at conception! but there are those who will tell you at birth. I guess it goes with the pro-life pro-choice thing, for some and for others just depends on there personal feelings. And the definition of a mother/father. anyone can conceive a child or be a sperm donor, it is the love for the child that is important. if you feel you were a mother then that is what you are a grieving mother! don't let anyone tell you diffrent!

I considered myself a mother the day I found out I am pregnant, so I go with conception. I am so sorry for your loss. You have a little angel in heaven that will look over you and your family. Don't give up hope.

It depends on what belief works best to help you accept the loss.
I've always believed that life starts at conception, but after 4 early miscarriages,Sometimes I have to believe that they were not given a soul yet, in order for me to be able to accept it. Sometimes I have to believe that they are with God, and have everything that I could possibly want for them, and I'll never have to worry about them, because I wouldn't trust any one to take care of them more than him. But i still refer to them as my babies when ever something triggers the memory.
It just depends on whats best for you. Your the one who has to go on with being here without them.
I'd like to know how far along you were. Me I'm not even sure that my babies even progressed after implantation, because it was so early. Bu it still hurts. I'm sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss. I too (and my wife) have lost a child to miscarriage. I believe life starts at conception. So you would be a parent at conception.
I take comfort in the fact that God has taken my lost child on to Heaven and that as a Christian I will one day get to meet the child God decided to hold for me until I get there.
I have often thought of him/her playing on Heaven's playground and crawled up in the lap of Jesus just waiting on mommy and daddy.
I will say a quick prayer for you.

I'm sorry to hear about your miscarraige. Those are hard to get through and it's hard to see the reasons behind them. You are a mother, ven though your child passed away.
RIP little one.
