You need to find the value of c such that you have a probability mass function. for any discrete random variable, if you sum over all possible values of X then the sum will equal 1.

P(Y = -1) + P(Y = 0) + P(Y = 1) + P(Y = 2) = 1
3c + 2c + 0.4 + 0.1 = 1
5c = 0.5
c = 0.1

if c = 0.1 then you have a probability mass function.

AP stat is greater troublesome to appreciate however the calculations are uncomplicated and person-friendly AP Calc is uncomplicated to appreciate yet calculations are plenty tougher and lots greater tedious...and you each so often won't be able to even get stunning solutions which includes integrating e^(-(x^2))...you finally end up employing estimations (i've got self assurance it quite is one million/ sqrt(pi) for the ex I mentioned...possibly thoroughly incorrect on the estimation tho
