When I went off the pill, I would bleed for two weeks and be off for two weeks for years until I got pregnant. Now my periods are normal. But it's possible you could be pregnant. If you are your probably not that far along that you have to worry, If the home pregnancy tests are negative, just wait till you get your insurance to see the doctor. Your first appointments they usually only take your history and stuff anyways.
The health department, and Planned Parenthood, do pregnancy test for cheap, or free based on your income.

I've heard that you should wait at least three months of being off the pill before trying to conceive to make sure all the hormones from the pill is out of your system. Don't know how true that is. Your period should regulate on your third or fourth cycle. You could be pregnant and it's too soon to show up on a home test. do you have any other symptoms of pregnancy...ie. tender and swollen breast, much more tired than usual etc. Wait a little longer and then take another home test if your period doens't begin or you could probably go to a free clinic to get tested before your insurance kicks in. Good luck.

It would have been best to use some other form of contraception for a couple of months before trying for a baby again - that way the after effects of stopping the pill can be eliminated from the debate. So hang on for a while yet and look for the symptoms of pregnancy - if you identify one or two be ready to see the doc immediately the medical insurance kicks in. If you have a period then you arent pregnant and you might wait a few more months yet before attempting to become pregant again.
Good Luck and Happy Motherhood

I'm not a doctor but I have being on the pill. It takes give or take a month or so to get back into the rhythm of things. Your body is adjusting. A blood test can determine if you are prego. Have you experienced morning sickness, cravings, heat and cold flashes, swelling in your breast area, sleepiness after meals, constipation or diarrhea. These are some symptoms but each persons body is individual uniqueness make it hard to establish it. Pregnancy can be checked after a month or so with a urine test.

as soon as you have the last period of being on the pill, you are back on your cycle even if it isn't quite on the same days yet. So yes, it is possible for you to be pregnant already. If it has been more than three weeks sence your last period, a test might give you insight. Even if its negative, get into your doctor as soon as insurance kicks back in.
Most couples will concieve within the first three months of stopping the pill.

I was on birth control for 5 years for hormone problems. I went off of it at the end of April, had a normal period in the first week of May... I didn't have another period until December 18th - 8 months later. It's now 12/27 and I'm still bleeding.. It messed me up and did more harm than good.

the cool thing about the pill is that it regualtes your cycle so well that it actually makes it easier to get pregnant once you go off of it. as for the negative pregnancy test, every woman is different and there for lets off different amounts of hormones when they are preggers. with my first baby my hormone levels were so high in the first month they thought i was having twins where as my cousin had to have sevral ultrasounds becasue she has very low hormone levels. it can even vary by pregnancy, i got a positive test when i was 2 weeks pregnant with my first and it took 6 weeks to get a positive test with my second. so yes you could be pregnant but just dont put the cart ahdead of the horse, you can actually convince youself you are pregnant and you will start having pregnancy symptoms even thought you arnt pregnant, if i were you i would assume you arnt ontill you see a positive test. do another test in a week. good luck!

I was on the pill before ... and had the shot too. So from my experience,... You have to give your body some time to re adjust itself. Birth control pills are/ have some type of hormone to keep you from being pregnant. If you have not had your period, don't panic. Just give yourself time to readjust. When your period is ready, and your body is ready... you'll know!! I had the depo-preva shot this past january.... after having my baby... had the shot only once.... never went back to get it again, and didn't have my period until novemember. it all depends on your body too, hon!! I hope i was able to help you..

Sometimes it does take a month or two before you start having normal periods. If after that time you have not had a normal period, I would contact my health care provide for any additional information. Hope this helps!!
