Stockton's always had the personality and showmanship of a brick.
But then again, he's excellent on both offense and defense, whereas Nash only excels on offense.

Stockton - no doubt. Future HoF.
Nash is a great player (win 2 MVP) but Stockton is still a better player (2 NBA finals)
Nash is flashy offensively but Stockton played such a control game offensively. You can compare their turnover stats.
Eventhought Nash is a first pass kind of point guard, Stockton is the King of first pass kind of point guard thats why he is the all time leader of Assist. He is the prototype of ideal point guard.
Most important Stockton is much better defensively compare to Nash. He is the all time leader of Steal although MJ should be the record holder if only he played longer. But Nash is nowhere near Stockton defensively.
I enjoy Nash games, but Stockton is the reason why I want to become a point guard.

Why do people keep trying to compare Nash to the greatest point guards of all time? I understand that he's a pretty darn good basketball player, but he's no John Stockton. Stockton knew how to play shut down, you-better-pass-the-ball-before-I-steal-it defense, along with being able to pass the ball amazingly (not only to Karl Malone), and score.

Steve Nash is my favorite NBA player so I pick Nash. Steve Nash is way better than Stephon Marbury. Steve Nash turn the Phoenix Suns around to a 60 win team. Stephon Marbury never had a 60 win season with the Suns. The Phoenix Suns are more exciting with Steve Nash by far. I would pick Steve Nash over John Stockton simply because Steve Nash is so valuable to his team any many ways without Nash the Suns are not the same team. Plus Steve Nash makes everyone better around him.
