Hi everyone, I used bare minerals for about 2 years and then I stopped, Can't exactly tell you why just did, and then I started using MAC studio fix fluid, which if you have used it you know gives the most astounding coverage but has given me acne.. of course.. So I am back to bare minerals the coverage is definaley more natural and I am wondering how to get used to that, and feel happy with my skin again.. I really don't have much to cover just had a year of Flawless nothing showed skin, and now wow..??? Any suggestions...

I completely understand!!

Here's what I do:

1. oil of olay fragrance free, oil free facial lotion (it acts as a nourishing buffer between everything and your face)

2. use the physician's formula brand concealer (you can find it in the drug store, where all of the other makeup is) lightly dab it where you need it and blend it in, or it will show through the Bare Minerals.

3. finish with your bare minerals foundation powder

Then eye makeup, mascara, lipstick etc if you wish

I LOVE Bare Minerals!!!!It's the best Maybe you could use the soft focus warmth to give you a little more color. Otherwise, just sit back and enjoy the look of flawless natural skin. It's the best!!! And your acne will most likely be going away soon. Also you can build your coverage up with the bare minerals. Like if you have a zit, take the smaller brush & just pat it on(instead of the buffing)(You still swirl & tap )I seen the
demo when the Leslie Blogett from Bare Minerals was on QVC. Then if you don't think you have enough coverage, just repeat the swirl ,tap & buff process.for the rest of it ,or just parts that need it. I just love it. I have vetaligo& no one can even tell with Bare Minerals. I've tried everything ,& this one is the only one that's ever worked. And believe me,I was very sceptical, but I sure am glad it came on QVC & I got to try it.

I use Bare Minerals, and I NEED!! coverage I have acne scars and dark circles, Bare minerals covers just a well as liquid for me, I use summer bisque for concealing with the maximum coverage concealer brush. And the Full coverage brush on my face. I just put it on until I feel coverered enough, You can't even tell I have scars!! You might want to try Full coverage Kabuki brush...

it will take time getting used to not seeing the foundation on your face. You may want to try using a different brush to apply the Bare Minerals. I use the Handi buki brush and that gives me the coverage that I want. You can also try misting your brush with water just to lightly moisten it and buffing that over your face once you put your foundation on, that may give you the look you're trying to achive. You may also want to try using the concealer brush to apply the foundation in the areas that you want more coverage, then gently buff over with which ever brush you use and see how that works.
Keep trying you'll find the best way to apply bare Minerals to get that look you want.
Good luck!!

I would use concealer on the parts that need it and apply the bare minerals with a heavier hand. I really like the stuff too but I totally know what you mean about getting used to the minimal coverage. I would keep it for the daytime and for casual things but use a liquid foundation for nights out/ events.

What Brush do you use with bare escentuals? I found that using the baby buki brush gives better coverage than the regular kabuki. If you want more coverage, they have a foundation brush that is just a bigger version of their concealor brush for total coverage.
