Yes. They are not particularly profitable; they provide things on a sliding scale; and many services are free. Given the profitability of medicine currently, they could make far more money doing any other kind of medicine than what they do, and for far fewer hassles. The reason there are abortion clinics is that picketers picketed hospitals, so hospitals stopped offering abortions as a result, leaving only these women's health care/birth control clinics to give the abortions. Of course, now they are picketed and harrassed, but the people who run them tend to be very committed, so don't close despite the harrassment and death threats.

Yes they have the woman's best interest in mind. They offer counselling to help the woman come to a decision and let her know what alternatives she has. They only perform an abortion after counselling. Where I am in Canada abortion is covered under our health plan so the clinic does not make a profit so it is most definitely not about a business wanting money..

Abortion clinic's are not there for a woman's best interest they are there to preform a service, just like any other business or industry, it is up to us to decide what is in our best interest. No one can decide that for us, that is why we have our own minds and the ability to think for our selves, so as long as you don't let someone do your thinking for you, you will always have your best interests in mind. Looking at how the rest of the world is, then yes. However, I have no personal experience with them. Unless you count the fact that my birthmother wanted to have me aborted....
