Luke's use of The Force. His dad was too, he said, "Impressive, most impressive, but you are not a Jedi yet." Apparently a Jedi is really, REALLY impressive, 'cause impressive alone just didn't cut it.

Thanksgiving weekend I saw Styx in concert with a youth orchestra in Cleaveland and I had forgotten what an excellent guitarist JY is and how he didn't really appear to be playing as much as the guitar and music seemed to be an extension of him. Combine that with the exuberance of the kids in the orchestra and Tommy Shaw's music.... Wow !!!!
I was duly impressed...

I was standing at Macy's the other day to buy Flogging Molly tickets at the Ticketmaster counter, and the ticket lady and the wrapping lady were the only two there.

There was a 20-something girl (apparently a former employee who just recently quit) who wanted to return something she bought a long time ago with cash and rebuy it with Employee Macy's Money.

The wrapping lady told her that it wasn't possible because the girl was no longer employed, and the girl started yelling and demanded to speak to a manager. The girl then started yelling at the manager about how their policy was unfair and whatnot, and wanted to know if she could just return everything and get her money back. the manager said yes.

The wrapping lady went on break, so the ticket lady had to deal with this girl. she returned her things for her, but then the girl realized she'd rather have the things back. So, she demands to have the ticket lady ring her back up with her employee discount, like she originally had bought the items.

The ticket lady couldn't do this because the girl was out of the system and their computers could not do manual discounts without a manager's approval and the ticket lady stated this. the girl then demands to use her Macy's Money AGAIN, and the ticket lady told her no.

The girl then starts screaming at the ticket lady, calling her retarded, a *****, a whore, and every other thing under the sun. the ticket lady, with her eyes watering, calls the manager, who is bustling about on the floor aiding other associates and can't come up right away, causing the ticket lady to deal with this unimaginably horrible young girl.

Finally, the manager comes up, about to re-explain to the girl about how she can't use her Macy's Money, but the girl is on the phone with the local police telling them how the ticket lady refused to ring her up (even though she couldn't). the manager told the girl to leave if she was not going to cooperate, and that she had no right to call the cops as the register would not allow such a transaction to take place. the girl refused to leave until the police showed up..

The girl starts verbally attacking this poor ticket lady while she is on the phone with the cops, saying things like, "What's your f***ing name, *****?" "What's the address of this damn store? you don't know? Are you f***ing retarded or something, *****?"

the manager tried to escort the girl out, but the girl warned her that she had a knife, and she'd use it if she had to. Meanwhile, this poor ticket lady had to stand there, desparately trying to hold back tears, and deal with being attacked. she tried to ignore it by using her own employee discount to re-ring the items the girl returned, hoping that the girl would leave if she got what she wanted.

Apparently, someone notifyed mall security of this girl, and five of them came to escort her out. the ticket lady, with a smile of relief on her face, said very kindly, 'I re-rang these things for you, ma'am, just as you originally purchased them. Here's your bag!"

the girl took the bag, took out the items, and hurled them at the ticket lady, hangers and all, and shouted,"YOU CAN TAKE THIS SH*T AND SHOVE IT UP YOUR ***! YOU AIN'T NOTHIN' BUT A MUTHAFUCKIN' C*CKS*CKIN' HO!" the mall security put her in handcuffs and escorted her out, and she cooperated.

so, here i was behind this girl the whole time, witnessing it all first hand. the manager asked the ticket lady if she needed to step out for a moment, and she said no. she looked at me with a huge, lit-up smile on her face, and said, "it's my ticket girl!" so she happily got me my tickets, and off I went.

I can't say i was impressed by this woman's calm, cool, and collected state as all that just took place did...I was amazed. For someone to just hold it together like that was incredible. AND the fact that she chose to help me, someone she knew and liked, instead of stepping out to relieve herself was a real shock. i admire her strength and patience and thank her for being so kind to me everytime I come in. That right there, is some very impressive, if not amazing, customer service.
