I attended a Mass Teacher's Retirement Information session and this was explained. I want more information about collecting Social Security from age 62 until I retire from a full time teaching job.

you need to make below the threshold to qualify....that should be easy enough ...right?

If you have earned 40 quarters earning the minimum amount of money each of those quarters, you can start to draw social security beginning at age 62. However, if you draw social security starting at age 62, they will withhold money if you earn more than a minimal amount.
Check www.ssa.gov/ for all the particulars.

Most anybody can start collecting SS at 62-just call your local SS office and they can explain it-benefits will be reduced

Well unless you plan on teaching part time your not gonna draw your full pension. Whatever you make on the side will come back out of your ss or you pay taxes on it also... either quit or id stick it out through 08 and hope the cost of living levels out,,
