Team: Atlanta Braves
1. John Smoltz
2. Chipper Jones
3. Jeff Francoeur
4. Brian McCann
1. No one has been in Atlanta as long as Smoltzy, and he's been willing to do whatever is needed to help his team win, even moving to the bullpen for a few years. He's well respected in the clubhouse and he's a team leader, not to mention a perennial Cy Young candidate.
2. What is their to love about Chipper Jones? He typically can hit for a good average (career .300 hitter) and he's got good power. He's had some injury problems, but those have really gone to show how much Atlanta needs him, he's the heart and sole of the Atlanta offense. Plus, he just wrecks Mets pitching.
3. He's one of the best young players in the game and one of the best defensive outfielders period. There isn't a single person that has more outfield assists than Francoeur since he came up from the minors about 3 years ago. Not to mention, every team needs a guy whose last name is difficult to spell and Atlanta got rid of Saltalamachia.
4. It's rare that you see a good pitcher that doesn't have a good relationship with his catcher, so catcher's are typically one of the most important people on a team anyway. McCann has great relationships with all of his pitchers and thats shown as both Smoltz and Hudson were chasing the Cy Young last season. Plus, McCann can hit, he almost won the batting title 2 seasons ago and he's hit 42 HR over the last 2 seasons which puts him among the top 3 for catchers.

I go the Indians and here is who I have:
1. C.C. Sabathia-The ace. The workhorse.
2. Victor Martinez- The leader of the team. A pure hitter. Every year he gets better....always good for 20+ HR .300 average and 100+ RBI's every year. This guy will be a HOF catcher someday.
3. Grady Sizemore-potnetial is unreal. Gold Glove CF-a 5 tool player-needs to cut down on K's-but he can do it all-and he is YOUNG.
4. Fausto Carmona-despite his October failure -He's young and has a sinker that sinks at 92 MPH-nobody else in MLB can throw that out pitch. If he gets better (SCARY)-nobody in MLB will be better, that includes CC Sabathia above-who I still don't think had the year of Carmona.
I have to throw in a 5th because---I just have to-couldn't decide between this guy and Sizemore...
5. Rafael Betancourt-the best set-up man in MLB last year. Don't agree with me? Check the numbers. If Betancourt came in-it was lights out for your team in the 8th-I don't care who he faced.
Now as far as your own list MR. Question asker,I agree with 2 of your 4. But Varitek is very replaceable-if Boston was offered Victor Martinez , Russell Martin or Joe Mauer straight up for Varitek right now-Epstein would jump on that deal without ANY hesitation...therefore-he's replaceable.
And as far as David Ortiz...Manny Ramire hitting next to David Ortiz makes Ortiz the hitter he is. Ortiz sees pitches he can hit because of the fear of Manny. Manny ha sput up HUGE numbers his entire career-even without Ortiz-Ortiz hasn't been able to do what he's doing without Manny-evidenc eof that is his numbers with Manny not in the line-up. Ramirez is a wayyyyyyyyyy better hitter then Ortiz ever was or will be. But I give you Beckett and your closer.

Brewers
1. Prince Fielder --- One of the Premier sluggers in baseball, 50 HR season at age 23
2. Ryan Braun --- George Brett couldn't field when he started either, only player better offensively in a per game basis was Arod last year.
3. Corey Hart --- Unsung 5 tool stud
4. Yovani Gallardo --- Get ready for Yovanimania, this guy can flat out pitch
And they are all 25 years of age or under

1) - Derek Jeter - Could you really ask any more from this guy? He gives it his all and is a great leader.
2) Alex Rodriguez - The last guy to give the Yankees production like this was Mickey Mantle.
3) Mariano Rivera - Only one of the greatest closers of all time. Even coming off a shaky season, he's still near unhittable when he's "on".
4) Joba Chamberlain - The most lights out pitcher the Yankees have developed since Mariano came up in '95.

Haha, I'm a Blue Jays fan, so this question is realllyyyy hard to answer. Uhhhh... irreplaceable? Hmmm...
Roy Halladay for sure.
Everybody else, I think is replaceable. But if I had to choose...
Aaron Hill... Vernon Wells... and Dustin McGowan.
Haha @ Dustin McGowan... but the Jays dont really have irreplaceable guys, except for Halladay. I'm hoping we can trade Rios to the Giants for Lincecum or Cain, but that doesnt look like its going to happen.

First and foremost, the city of Boston should be washed into the Atlantic and all its teams and smug citizens should go down with the ship. Secondly I am a Pirates fan so here is my list:
1. Barry Bonds
2. Bobby Bonilla
3. Doug Drabeck
4. Jose "Chico" Lind
This list of of the players from our last good team. As for our current team, there are a few guys I like, but no one from a below .500 team is irreplaceable

Mets:
1) Jose Reyes
2) David Wright
3) Carlos Beltran
4) Endy Chavez
Obviously Wright and Reyes are the heart and soul of this team. Beltran is our #3 hitter and our best defensive outfielder. If you aren't a Mets fan, then you are probably thinking I'm crazy for putting Endy. But he does so much for this team off the bench. Pinch hitting and defensively in the outfield, he was our best bench player and helped us throughout the whole 2006 season and post season (especially that catch, game 7 vs Cardinals). Unfortunately he pulled his hamstring last season and I'm hoping to see him back healthy next year.

hey cubs fan here
1. De Lee, what an awsome 1st baseman, hits for base hits solid glove at 1st and he's got such a good lineup around him he generally get a lot of rbis.
2. Aramis Ramirez, hits for power and a pretty good 3rd baseman.
3. Alfonso Soriano, how good of a lead off hitter do you need?
4. Carlos Zambrano, when he actually has his game on and doesn't lose his temper.
5. Mark Derosa, i guess you can switch him and Carlos depending on the day but Derosa can play anywhere in the infield.

As much as I would like to say there is someone that can't be replaced, for every player out there, there is another that is better, or a combination of two or three that will be better (combined) and cheaper)
Roy Halladay (for the Jays) is the only one that I would see as close to irreplaceable, but that day will come. Wells is not worth $126 million.
