If you took a pit from an olive would it be possible to grow it at home? What would you have to do to get it to grow?

Nick V- I have a feeling that all of that doesn't exist in nature...but I'm pretty sure olives can grow without human intervention.

What an interesting question...I have a sweet olive tree in my backyard that has flowers that smell so sweet and it is a beautiful green all year long..but I bought it at a shop...I have never seen any olives on it...I think I am going to give this a shot...I live in a place that is somewhat tropical, so maybe it would grow...

I started plants from avocado seeds,,,sweet potato vines from pieces of potato...that sort of thing,,but never tried an olive seed,,,,or orange seed for that matter...Good question....

You would have to take a viable pit from a fresh olive. Taking one that has been soaked in vinegar and salt water will not yield a pit that can grow. - it is dead.

If you grab a pit from a tree it will grow, but growth of olive trees is very slow.

No not with out the proper seeding plantation field, sunlight hood, exponentiol growth hormone, and seedling oil.
